When you sign up to bookitlive, we offer you a 14 day free trial from when you sign up. At the end of the trial period, your card will be automatically charged according to the package selected on sign up.
We ask for your debit/credit card details for several reasons:
- To verify your identity.
- To protect us from theft and fraud.
- To validate your purchase of a paid subscription.
We also use your card details to perform a pre-authorisation to confirm you have funds available to pay the monthly subscription amount. Monthly subscription payments will automatically commence on the first day after the trial period.
What is a pre-authorisation?
Pre-authorisation (also card authorisation, authorisation hold, or preauth) is the practice within the banking industry of authorising an electronic transactions done with a debit or credit and holding this balance as unavailable until either bookitlive completes the transaction, also called settlement, or the hold "falls off." In the case of debit, authorisation holds can fall off the account, thus rendering the balance available again, anywhere from 1 to 8 business days after the transaction date depending on the issuing bank's policy. In the case of credit cards, holds may last as long as 30 days, depending on the issuing bank.
